My Fair Lady and the Hong Kong Temple
We had a fun week with our fellow Guangzhou Branch members. Mid-week a large group of us attended a Broadway production of "My Fair Lady" at the Guangzhou Opera House. We saw the "Phantom of the Opera" there last October.
The opera house is very modern and quite impressive. The performance was first rate.
A few days later we had a Temple trip to the Hong Kong Temple. One of our members was receiving her endowments that day and we all wanted to support her. Not a bad turn out for our little branch.
We saw this sign in Hong Kong and had to get a photo.
This was taken in Stanley which is on the south shore of Hong Kong island. It is one of our favorite areas. We were looking out into the harbor. We try to always get down to Stanley when we are in Hong Kong for the delicious fish and chips!
We leave in two days for a trip to Zhangjiajie. It is China's first national park and is so unique and beautiful that the mountains in the Avatar film are from there. We complete our semester on June 22 and leave for Tibet the next day. We will return to Guangzhou for one day and then fly back to Pocatello on July 2. We are very excited about spending a couple of months at home. We will then return to Guangzhou in September to teach for one more semester.
