Ricky Lee Retires

It is official - Ricky Lee retired today from the City of Pocatello.  He is now a free man - except that he is married to his lovely wife Sue. Last Saturday (Oct 18) we surprised Rick with a retirement party. There were close to 100 well wishers who attended including James and Heather from Portland and Carol Smyth from San Jose. Melissa Nielsen aka Marilyn Monroe was in attendance and provided a fabulous rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water as well as a Happy Retirement song and various jokes. 

The food was excellent (A Costco Menu) and everyone recorded their favorite memory of Ricky as well as advice for retirement. I had been planning the party for a few months and had quite a challenge to keep it as a surprise. So happy that it turned out well and that I can now move on to some travel plans!

Monday morning (Oct 20) was Rick's retirement party at the city offices.  The mayor presented him with a key to the city and Ruth Wilford read a poem that she had written just for her departing boss!  Rick chose the menu of pumpkin bread, cookies and milk - it was perfect!
