Rick's Dad lives in Kansas City so we decided to make a trip back there to visit before we leave for China. His Dad and Nancy live in a really pretty suburb called Lee's Summit. I was really impressed with how green and pretty the countryside looked everywhere that we traveled.
We spent two days in Lee's Summit celebrating Jim's birthday and visiting with family.
This is a cute picture of Rick and his Dad holding their purses. We traveled to Branson for a couple of days where we had a wonderful time enjoying all that Branson has to offer. We saw a fabulous show and ate some great home style cooking that included a berry cobbler with cinnamon ice cream. It was really hot but there was plenty of air conditioning.
One of our favorite parts of the visit to Branson was a resort called Top of the Rock. The resort has a golf course, a natural history museum and a cave tour in a golf cart. Here are a few pictures from the Top.
We will definitely need to visit Kansas City again after we return from China (AC). Our AC list is growing!!!!! Rick and I will be going to Provo the first two weeks of Provo for training and then off to China by the end of August. We will be speaking in church on August 23 if anyone is interested.
